Catalogue of the exhibition presented at the Fondation Maeght, from June 4 to November 27 2016

In this new exhibition, Christo chose to concentrate on one aspect of his oeuvre, work with oil barrels. What began as sculpture developed into structures and projects for constructions using barrels, such as the Wall of Oil Barrels created by Christo and Jeanne-Claude in 1962 in various urban environments, culminating in the monumental Mastaba in the Abu Dhabi desert. Sculptures, installations, drawings, models and photographs, films, preparatory and completed productions testify to several decades of work, from their first creations to the project study for the Mastaba in Abu Dhabi.
